Ftelia beach is a world-wide famous beach in the famous resort of Mykonos. Its northern location has established the beach as a wind surfer’s paradise. The crystal clear waters and the unique landscape (sand and rocks) really deserve a visit. The beach is also well known for the famous Neolithic settlement found there believed that is the tomb of ancient Iliad hero Ajax the Locrian.
At Ftelia, you find only two restaurants, very unique, the “Allemagou” and the “Ftelia”. Ftelia is only 7 minutes away from Town, 2 minutes from the traditional village of Ano Mera and 5 minutes from the famous beaches of Kalo Livadi, Elia, Kalafati, Agia Anna. Ano Mera is a beautiful, picturesque village located in the center of the island, only 10 minutes from the town. It is worth a stroll through the streets of the village and have lunch in the traditional taverns, such as “Odos Araxame”, “To steki tou proedrou”, “Oti apomeine”, “Tsaf” for sea food. You will taste homemade local recipes and enjoy warm hospitality. At Ano Mera there is the historic monastery of Panagia Tourliani, founded in the 15th century. In the village, you can find many shops to buy tobaccos, newspapers and magazines, bakery, super market, fishmonger, greengrocer, costermonger, pharmacy, parapharmacy, playground, basketball court and many small stores for shopping.
Also, in a distance of 3 minutes you find a Mall with the famous bakery of Veneti, a hairdresser, a supermarket and on the way to the Mall there is one more super market, shop for magazines, newspapers and tobacco, many stores for shopping and a place for souvlaki. Right opposite, there is a store with traditional sweets and fresh nuts. In a distance of 1 minute from the Mall, you find some private doctors, the medical center and pharmacy.
